Designed for a young professional this house takes its strength from a disciplined brief; modest in overall size and a strong commitment to Energy Efficient Design.  The single most important consideration with EED is limiting the size of the house.

A Stabilised Rammed Earth spine extends from the entry through the length of the house providing warmth and thermal mass.  Structural Insulated Panels provide an economical and thermally effective cover to the building, sloping up to the north allowing deep penetration of winter sun onto a polished charcoal concrete, thermally massive floor.

North facing double glazing to the living area and double glazing to the bedrooms further stabilise diurnal temperatures year round.
